Application support analyst (barclays capital)
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Adhere to agreed Operating Level Agreement criteria.
• Day to day application support functions, including but not limited to Call logging, troubleshooting, log file retrieval and analysis
• Support cover for full Business day, as part of a team working in a shift pattern between 07:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m (local time.)
• Assist with release management and the overnight batch cycle activities to ensure continuity of service, performance & stability
• Coordinating with the London team to ensure appropriate handover activities are completed from London / to Asia.
• As required, support the crisis management activities, and participate in post-mortem analysis.
• Assist with the 2nd level developer support from within the team: potentially assisting with research and debugging of application components
• Participate in the release of applications that have been tested by the development and deployment/testing teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of the routine maintenance and procedures associated with every system component.
• Ensure timely communication on progress and status of User requested is issued in a timely manner
• Work closely with the development teams and business analysts to provide feedback from the User community – assit (where appropriate) with the prioritisation of minor enhancements and system improvements.
Experience required:
• Prior experience in a production support role
• Ability to communicate verbally and maintain calm under stress.
• Must be a team player; the primary success criteria is to gain the trust and confidence of other support team members and development teams
• ITIL based environment management
• Operational risk management
• Major incident handling
• Excellent customer facing skills with demonstrable ability of building relationships with Users.
• Must be able to demonstrate practical experience of day-to-day support including end-user queries and taking ownership of end to end resolution
• Good understanding of Windows operating systems, and the support and troubleshooting of those systems
• Solid understanding of the workflow and processes involved with trading systems from execution right through to Settlement.
