Application support (barclays capital)
Main Duties
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
• 1st/2nd Line application and business process support for the applications under TCG (Trading Components Group).
• Proactive monitoring of applications to ensure maximum system uptime.
• Diagnose / troubleshoot production issues and user queries.
• Take ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate.
• Escalate issues to Development Support if can’t be solved within the agreed SLA.
• Liaise with Development teams on bugs, fixes or new features to be released.
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing during systems rollout.
• Building a procedure framework and enhancement of knowledge base.
• Undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas:- capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting and documentation.
• Require to work on a support rota covering either the AP or London shift. To be in office early morning on shifts and would need to do the occasional weekend work or on-call. The London shift covers the hours from 3pm to 11pm/12am Singapore time.
Skills & Knowledge (Required):
• Good hands-on experiences in SQL language and stored procedures, triggers and other DB objects.
• Working knowledge on Windows (W2K, W2K3) platform.
• Good understanding of Unix & Windows shell Scripting language, VB Script, Perl scripting etc.
• Good understanding of internet technologies like XML, HTML, XSL, XSchema or other web technologies.
• Familiarity with Talarian SmartSockets, MQ or Middleware technologies.
• Participated in any Disaster recovery planning, testing and execution.
• Familiarity with Autosys or other job scheduling tool, incident management tools like HPSC or Remedy.
