Credit client support analyst (barclays capital)
Main Duties
• Operate as part of the team shift rota that provides support coverage through 07:00-19:00
• Perform start of day RFB (ready for business) system checks
• Interact with the Credit Derivatives business to log, prioritise, resolve, escalate (where required), and own all support issues through to completion.
• Perform deep analysis of support requests to identify the most efficient solutions to client issues. Keep abreast of the wider projects within the technology space, and where feasible, leverage these initiatives to improve issue resolution and client service.
• Effectively communicate / escalate incidents and problems to the 2nd line support / development.
• Update the support knowledge base recoding new issues, workarounds, solutions and system / process how-to's.
• Take on "System Specialist" responsibility for a suit of applications, and become a knowledge reference point for the support, development and project teams. Build up systems knowledge, technical knowledge, and business knowledge, through self assessment, self training materials, and liaising with key development contacts to obtain a deep understanding of the systems and business.
• Delivery responsibility for minor works to support project initiatives and / or to improve client service
Experience Required:
• Proven experience supporting FO applications in a global investment banking environment
• Experience with ITIL concepts and best practices
Skills / Aptitude Required:
• Understanding of the investment banking business, Credit product knowledge, and the lifecycle of trade is advantageous
• Strong spoken & written communication skills
• Ability to understand the business context and respond to users is more important over the in-depth technology skills
• Ability to work under pressure and continue to support users and applications
• Process oriented and able to follow through on all issues raised by clients in a timely manner
• Excellent client facing skills with a proven track record of building relationships with business and technology stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong basic technical skills with demonstrated ability to learn will be required in order to identify the trouble spots and suggest potential fixes
• Good team player
Technologies
As part of the support team, technical skills expected are for trouble shooting and performing minor fixes. The candidate is expected to have experience in at least one database, programming language and operating system knowledge/experience.
