Junior mysql dba
Kiev department of US software development company is seeking talented junior MySQL DBA.
Responsibilities:
Work with several internal groups (Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, etc) helping them with SQL queries, data extractions and reports.
Assist in weekly andor monthly releases with database related tasks such as data refreshes, data migrations, and work with DEV team members to co-ordinate database schema updates.
Assist with install, configure, manage and maintain multiple MySQL servers and databases in non-production environments.
Assist with some database administration tasks such as backups, performance tuning, etc.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of SQL language (MySQL-specific use for at least 2 years)
At least 2 years experience in working with of InnoDB and MyISAM tables.
Troubleshooting and problem resolution skills with MySQL
Strong communication skills for interaction with other teams and departments
Pluses:
Strong knowledge of unix shell scripting (bash or ksh etc)
Strong knowledge of any other scripting languages e.g. PHP, Perl, etc.
Working knowledge of any of reporting tools (open source or commercial) e.g. Pentaho, Microstrategy, etc
