On behalf of Encode company (http://encode.dk), Ciklum (www.ciklum.net) searches for a QA/Technical writer to join its Kiev team.

Encode is a Danish software development company working on a product targeting the automation of various activities of marketing departments and advertisement agencies.

There are about 50 active clients (Toyota, JYSK, LEGO, Tiffany among them) and more than 80 supported production installations.

The team in Kiev currently consists of 8 persons. We follow agile methodologies in building our processes and are focused on quality, usability and stability of the product.

Currently we are looking for a new team member who could successfully perform both software testing and technical writing activities.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Taking active part in assuring quality of the product by conducting functional and non-functional testing (80% of time).
• Writing documentation including but not limited to: user guides, release notes, system configuration description, and test documentation (20% of time).

Our expectations are:

• 1+ years of experience in software testing and technical writing
• Practical knowledge of testing techniques
• Experience in creating test documentation, namely: test cases, checklists, defect reports
• Ability to gather and analyze information required for both testing and technical writing
• Experience in bug tracking systems such as Jira is a plus
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience in writing the following documentation:
  • User guides
  • Release notes
  • Installation guides
  • Short feature guides (aka How-To)
• Ability to understand complex software and convert technical language into documentation for audiences with different levels of technical expertise
• Knowledge of Microsoft Manual of Style is a plus
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum is a plus
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good at self-management
