FINANCE DIRECTOR
LOCATION. KYIV, UKRAINE
Core Requirements:
At least 5 years of finance management experience in organisation with multi million budgets.
University degree, preferably in Economics, Finance or Accounting. Professional certification such as CIMA, ACCA or other internationally recognized qualification is an advantage.
Experience in liaising with donors, governmental authorities, international institutions, as well as first-hand experience with financial oversight of non profitable organisations.
Proven ability to represent organisation in a range of fora, including various partner co-ordination activities in complex environments.
Experience in development and implementation of financial strategies and policies.
Strong programme, project and people management skills to include: strategic planning, work planning and team management, proposal development and budget management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in Ukrainian, Russian and English.
High level of computer skills (MS Office and finance software applications).
Responsibilities:
Strategy and Leadership
Provide inspiration and leadership to the Finance teams and represent them at the Senior Management Team. Develop financial strategies and scenarios to inform the strategic planning process and the establishment of organisation and team objectives and plans.
Finance and Financial Systems
Safeguard the AU financial assets including donor income, ensuring that the organisation meets its financial obligations and manages its financial risks. Develop efficient and effective financial accounting systems, processes and internal controls which serve the AU and are in line with the organization global policy, the AU strategy, Ukrainian statutory requirements as well as meet donors’ requirements.
Statutory Accounts
Ensure the AU consolidated accounts are prepared accurately, in compliance with best practice and legislation and in a timely manner.
Budgeting, Reporting and Donor Relations
Manage the AU budgeting process and provide the Senior Management Team, trustees and other stakeholders with accurate and timely financial management information. Establish and maintain reporting systems which allow strategic use of AU funds as well as accurate and timely reporting to AU donors.
Audit
Act as the focal point for the AU’s statutory audits.
Learning and Knowledge Transfer
Develop learning and knowledge transfer strategies to support the planning and execution of strategic financial initiatives across the AU.
Other
Provide high-level support to the AU Executive Director and to other senior staff members at the AU.
